Best way to organise photos into folders within folders?

Hi everyone,

I have about 6000 photos that I want to store in folders within folders. But the Photos app seems to only allow for one level of folders? Is there a way that you can have multiple levels of folders?

Cheers

I'm pretty new to Mac, so didn't realise the difference and how folders and albums work.

So, just to clarify -

I make jewellery and take photos for listings. So, the way I store these is I create a folder titled Jewellery, then I can create an album for each piece of jewellery?

And, can I create a folder within a folder and then store albums?

And (finally lol) if the above is correct, once I sync my iphone, the folder/album structure will remain the same on my phone?

The easiest way to arrange your albums and folders in Photos on a Mac is to use the sidebar, not the Albums view.

If you did not yet reveal the sidebar, enter the key combination option-command-S ⌥⌘S to toggle the sidebar on and off.

In the sidebar you can drag albums into folders or folders into folders and organize them as you like. To the left of every folder you will see a disclosure triangle to open the folder or close it.

For example a folder with three smart albums in the sidebar open, and more folders closed:
